Biography

Jack HeathJack Heath is the award-nominated* author of three action-adventure books: The Lab (2006), Remote Control (2007), and Money Run (2008). His fourth book will be released, predictably, in 2009. Jack started writing The Lab when he was 13 years old and had a publishing contract at 18. He's 22 now, but all the other writers still make fun of him.

When he's not writing, Jack is performing street magic, composing film music, teaching or lecturing at schools and festivals, or playing a variety of instruments including the piano and the bass guitar. He stoically ignores his lack of qualifications or training in any of these areas.

Jack was born in Sydney in 1986, but has resided in Canberra since age 9. He didn't intend to end up there, but he's afraid of big cities, small towns, places where no-one speaks English, and places where he doesn't know anyone. Every passing day makes it harder to leave.

"Spinning wheels, falling buildings, blazing guns, exploding helicopters and seaward-plunging cars bear out Jack Heath's publicity as the new Matthew Reilly; but there is evidence in this book that he could be better than this."
-- Val Kent, Victorian Association for Teachers of English, in a review of The Lab

"Explosive, high throttle adventure that will thrill his growing legion of fans."
-- ABC Canberra, in a review of Remote Control

"The impressive aspect of 22-year-old Jack Heath's latest book for young adults is its sheer inventiveness. ASIO should really give him a call."
-- Dianne Dempsey, The Age, in a review of Money Run
